Rugăciuni pentru copii-Charles Dickens

Dragii mei copii,

Doresc foarte mult să ştiţi şi voi câte ceva despre Povestea lui Iisus Hristos. Căci toată lumea ar trebui să ştie despre El. Findcă nimeni niciodată nu a fost atât de bun, de blând, de înţelegător şi plin de grijă faţă de toţi cei care făceau fapte rele sau care sufereau de vreo boală ori de alte nenorociri, aşa cum era El. El se află acum în Rai, acolo unde tragem cu toţii nădejde să ajungem, să ne întâlnim după moarte şi să trăim fericiţi de-a pururi împreună. Nu vă puteţi da seama ce loc minunat este Raiul dacă nu ştiţi cine a fost şi ce a făcut El.

Să luăm aminte la învăţăturile Mântuitorului nostru Iisus Hristos către ucenicii Lui şi către noi, învăţături pe care trebuie să ni le amintim în fiecare zi din viaţa noastră, să-l iubim pe Domnul Dumnezeul nostru cu toată inima noastră, cu toată mintea noastră, cu tot sufletul nostru şi cu toată puterea noastră; să ne iubim aproapele ca pe noi înşine, să facem altor oameni numai ceea ce ne-ar plăcea să ne facă şi ei nouă şi să fim darnici şi blânzi cu toţi. Nici o altă poruncă, a spus Mântuitorul Iisus Hristos, nu este mai mare decât acestea.

Pentru seară

O, Doamne, care pe toate le-ai întrupat, care eşti atât de bun şi de milostiv cu toate fiinţele pe care le-ai făcut şi care încearcă să merite bunătatea şi mila Ta! Doamne, binecuvântează-i pe scumpul meu tătic şi pe scumpa mea mămică, pe dragii mei fraţi şi surori şi pe toate rudele şi pe toţi prietenii mei. Fă-mă să fiu un copilaş bun şi să nu fiu niciodată obraznic şi să nu spun nicio minciună, căci acest lucru este greşit şi ruşinos. Fă-mă să fiu bun cu doicile şi servitoarele mele şi cu toţi cerşetorii şi oamenii sărmani şi să nu fiu niciodată rău cu niciun suflet, căci dacă arăt cruzime chiar şi unei biete musculiţe, Dumnezeu, care e atât de bun, nu mă va mai iubi. Şi te rog, Doamne, să ne binecuvântezi şi să ne aperi pe toţi în noaptea asta şi întotdeauna, prin Domnul nostru Iisus Hristos. Amin.

 

My dear children,

I am very anxious that you should know something about the History of Jesus Christ. For everybody ought to know about Him. No one ever lived, who was so good, so kind, so gentle, and so sorry for all people who did wrong , or were in anyway ill or miserable, as He was. And as He is now in Heaven, where we hope to go, and all to meet each other after we are dead, and there be happy always together, you never can think what a good place Heaven is without knowing who He was and what He did.

Hear what Our Lord Jesus Christ taught to His Disciples and to us, and what we should remember every day of lives, to love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our mind and with all our soul and all our strength; to love our neighbours as ourselves, to do unto other people as we would have them do us and to be charitable and gentle to all. There is no other commandment, our Lord Jesus Christ said, greater than these.

For the evening

O, God, who has made everything, and is so kind and merciful to everything He has made, who tries to be good and to deserve it; God bless my dear papa and mamma, brothers and sisters and all my relations and friends. Make me a good little child, and let me never be naughty and tell a lie, which is a mean and shameful thing. Make me kind to my nurses and servants, and to all beggars and poor people, and let me never be cruel to any dumb creature, for if I am cruel to anything, even to a poor little fly, God, who is so good, will never love me. And pray God to bless and preserve us all, this night, and forever-more, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
